Mieskuoro Euga was founded in July 2011 by a group of young and enthusiastic musicians from Turku and Tampere who aimed to fill a gap in the Finnish choir scene. The core vision was a dream of a youthful male choir with equal parts talent and ambition that would meld into a unified group without borders between the cities. Helsinki soon became the third city for the periodical rehearsals. Years have seen members join and retire but the core principle of about two dozen young talented singers remains, some connected through shared years in a boys choir, some through musical education.

In our productions we strive to perform a wide range of innovative music, not forgetting the classics, and perform music both accompanied and acapella from the Middle Ages through to modern times. Euga has premiered music from Seppo Pohjola, Jukka Linkola and Anton Valle. Over the years Euga has collaborated with master organists Pétur Sakari and Kalevi Kiviniemi and performed since 2017 with the video game music orchestra Game Music Collective. Euga published its first album, the Christmas music extravaganza Ex Hibernis in December 2015.
